Directions for Use
Depending on your home care regimen, skin type and weather climate, apply Moisturizing Cream as directed to treatment area. Moisturizing Cream will help replenish the lost ceramide and lipid content of the skin following the usage of a soap cleanser. With continued use, the effects and loss of moisture (TEWL) do to daily cleansing can be reduced and a reserve of essential intercellular lipids will be achieved. This process of lipid renewal will insure proper barrier function and increase the natural process of cellular sloughing within the stratum corneum to reveal new layers of healthy corneocytes.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
Moisturizing Cream is a powerful tool against the effects of daily cleansing, environmental attacks on the skin and some hereditary skin disorders. Designed for cold climates and non-oily skin, care should be taken if you are acne prone or react to heavy moisturizing products. See below for activie ingredients and function within the skin: Ceramide
Ceramides are a family of lipid molecules. They are found in high concentrations within the cell membranes. During the cleansing phase of any skin care program, ceramides are lost, barrier function is compromised and ceramide recovery is necessary to insure proper skin health.
Ceramides make up the bulk of the lipid layer which holds the skin’s cells together in a firm, smooth structure. They maintain the moisture retention ability of the skin. A drop in the level of ceramides results in the skin becoming dry, leading to increased fine lines and wrinkles. If the body cannot keep up with the losses of it’s ceramide content due to environmental or age related factors. Your skin will lose it’s ability to stop structural damage, stop TEWL which will lead to unwanted skin conditions, most of all wrinkles.
The use of topical ceramides is clinically proven to build up ceramide levels with continued daily use and increase the skin’s ability to prevent water loss and other related skin conditions. The result being diminished fine lines and the reduction in the severity of facial wrinkles.
Moisturizing Cream’s ceramide 2 ingredient will aid in the recovery of the stratum corneum barrier after daily cleansing and protect the skin from further moisture loss. Ceramide 2 will strengthen and repair the skin’s barrier while improving cell cohesion, enhancing water retention and reduce skin dryness. Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) is a powerful precursor to a family of enzymes which have antioxidant properties. The process by which Niacinamide affects the skin is far too complicated for this manual, but the use of Vitamin B3 at specific percentages and pH are well documented within the scientific community:
- Inhibits sebum production (this may contribute to a reduction in pore size and smoother skin texture)
- Increased epidermal production of skin barrier lipids (e.g., ceramides)
- Increased protection from TEWL
- Improves skin barrier which increases skins resistance to damage from either soaps or environmental damage that results in less irritation, inflammation and skin redness
- Increases collagen production which leads to a reduction in fine lines
- Inhibits the transfer of melanosomes from melanocytes to keratinocytes leading to a reduction in hyperpigmentation
